Wireless applications for monitoring and alarm notification.
A worker in an industrial plant is sprayed with a harmful liquid. He follows procedures; manages to reach and activate an emergency shower; but then collapses. He is the only person aware of the situation ...until found some time later.
An alarm is required in the Control Center to alert emergency services of the shower location and time of activation. Activation sensors can be easily fitted to the showers, however the cost of wiring to every shower is prohibitive ...so there are no alarms.
ELPRO’s industrial wireless products remove wiring costs, and bring the overall cost down toacceptable levels. Fit a limit switch to the shower actuation arm and connect to a battery powered ELPRO 905U-K wireless unit. Each time the shower is activated, or de-activated, a wireless alarm is sent to the control center DCS, SCADA or HMI system. The ELPRO 905U-G unit in the control center interfaces to a variety of protocols such as Modbus, EtherNet, Profibus or DeviceNet.
